In partnership with the Auckland Urban Development Office, JFC installed Waka Moana, a collection of artworks by artist Graham Tipene honouring the stories of Māori voyagers who navigated Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa (the Pacific Ocean) centuries ago before arriving on the shores of Tāmaki Makaurau.

We constructed nine architecturally designed concrete plinths, each uniquely shaped and built with precision using innovative construction techniques to support the waka structures. We also installed new lighting through the existing footpaths, relocated street furniture, and revitalised the surrounding rain gardens using environmentally friendly materials that complement the artworks and enhance the public space.
