Last Sunday, we installed a beautiful concrete artwork forming the lid at Waitematā Station. Designed by mana whenua artist Graham Tipene (Ngāti Whātua, Ngāti Kahu, Ngāti Hine, Ngāti Haua, Ngāti Manu), the lid is a central feature of the square’s design. It symbolises the meeting of Te Waihorotiu Stream and the Waitematā Harbour, honouring the life that thrives from their coming together.

This involved a complex crane lift that demanded meticulous planning and millimetre-perfect precision, and its successful execution stands as a proud achievement for our team and our client Auckland Council, who are delivering the plaza on behalf of City Rail Link. Ka pai!
