Westhaven Pile Berth, Auckland
JFC delivered finishing works for recently reclaimed northern extension at Westhaven Marina. The project involved extending the Westhaven Promenade boardwalk along the southern side of the reclamation, the installation of new utility services, and the construction of a new car park featuring trees and planting. We delivered the new boardwalk structure, comprised of cantilevered precast substructures supported by 44 reinforced concrete piles (750mm diameter). Extensive marine protection measures, including the use of silt curtains, were implemented to mitigate sediment and erosion impacts during construction. As part of the wider scope, the project also included the construction of a new carpark on recently reclaimed land and a comprehensive upgrade of surrounding public infrastructure. This involved enhancements to carriageways, pedestrian paths, traffic facilities, and utility access, improving both the functionality and aesthetics of the precinct. This project exemplifies JFC’s capability in delivering complex marine and civil infrastructure in sensitive environments, while contributing to Auckland’s waterfront vision for vibrant, accessible public spaces.

The scope of works consisted of the following:
- Civil works, including excavation, disposal, and precise cutting for site preparation
- Construction of the 130m marine boardwalk using cantilevered precast elements and deep piles.
- Carpark construction with full layout marking and functional integration into the public space.
- Installation of new street lighting and street furniture
- Soft landscaping and streetscape treatments to elevate the amenity
