Wainuiomata Town Centre
JFC was engaged by Hutt City Council to deliver the Wainuiomata Town Centre revitalisation – a key initiative designed to strengthen local connectivity, support a growing population, and celebrate the suburb’s unique cultural and historical identity. The project centred on the transformation of Queen Street and the former Wainuiomata Mall site into a modern, multi-functional Town Square. This new civic space provides improved access to shops and services while fostering a sense of community and place. The result is a more vibrant, accessible, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

The scope of works consisted of the following:
Installation of new stormwater infrastructure and a new sewer connection, including a grease trap to service the new café and community hub
Supply and installation of an Exeloo public toilet unit
Ducting and cabling for upgraded street and amenity lighting
Foundation works and service connections for new café and community hub container structures, including a canopy
Installation of ACO drainage systems for surface water management
High-quality granite and concrete paving across footpaths and the Memorial Plaza
Road reconstruction and resurfacing, including line marking and signage
Street furniture installation, including new seating, bins, and signage
Tree planting and soft landscaping
