North Auckland Line
JFC was engaged by KiwiRail to reinstate and future-proof key sections of the North Auckland Line (NAL), restoring operational capacity and improving resilience after severe weather events. The project spanned multiple remote and rural locations, where access to the rail corridor was often logistically complex. Working in these isolated environments required a precise planning, resourcing, and transport of materials. Many work fronts were only accessible via private property or directly along the rail corridor, demanding close coordination.

The scope of works consisted of the following:
Identification, protection, and relocation of underground and aboveground services
Site clearance, including vegetation removal
Installation of new subsoil drainage systems, culverts, swales, and engineered drainage materials to support long-term track stability
Construction of deep piled foundations and steel casings to support palisade retaining walls
Installation of timber lagging as part of retaining structures
Earthworks including placement and compaction of engineered fill to construct new embankments and restore track alignment
Heavy haulage operations
Slope stabilisation through soil nail reinforcement systems
