Mercy Hospital – Early Works, Auckland
JFC were appointed as an ECI partner to oversee the planning and delivery of both enabling and early works to redevelop Mercy Ascot in Epsom. We provided cost certainty, quality and minimal disruption to ongoing hospital operations and stakeholders. Our scope included enabling works (alterations to existing buildings, necessary to allow the early works and building packages to be undertaken) and early works.

The scope of works consisted of the following:
- Concrete reinforced piling and ground anchors to underpin and support existing buildings
- Reinforced shotcrete temporary retaining walls to support existing hospital foundations to permit basement excavations
- Within 600mm of existing hospital buildings, excavated 9m+ down (in volcanic rock) and removed 25,000m3 cut-to-waste material for future formation of a new basement level
- Construction of new ambulance route through formation of a gravity mass block retaining structure and associated pre-cast walls
- Civils works, including foul, stormwater drainage and associated soak holes
