Masonic Park
JFC delivered a transformation to Masonic Park that serves as a vital connection between the future Te Manawataki o Te Papa civic precinct and the Tauranga Moana waterfront, marking a significant milestone in revitalising Tauranga’s City Centre. Key attractions such as a library, community hub, civic whare, museum and gallery will be included in Te Manawataki o Te Papa. Given its location within Tauranga’s historic core, the project required detailed planning and execution to manage archaeological sensitivities and environmental considerations. Additionally, the project required installation of bespoke landscape and street furniture which resulted in meticulous planning and meeting precise design specifications to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure while maintaining high-quality finishes.
Harmonising history with contemporary design in the heart of Tauranga.
The scope of works consisted of the following:
Site preparation and establishment
Installation of concrete and stone paving, pathways, and edge treatments
Construction of retaining walls and precast seating units
Inclusion of bespoke street furniture and interactive features
Installation of water features and service connections
Meeting sustainability requirements with materials and design features
Installation of drinking fountains, cycle racks, raised planters and rubbish/recycling bins
