Great North Road

Great North Road forms part of Auckland Transport’s Connected Communities Programme, delivering major upgrades to one of Auckland’s busiest inner-city arterial corridors. The project spans a 1.65km section between Ponsonby Road and Crummer Road, improving safety, public transport efficiency, and active transport connectivity for pedestrians, cyclists, and commuters.   JFC served as principal contractor across both the Enabling Works and Main Construction Works, ensuring continuity and quality throughout. The enabling works de-risked the main contract by confirming underground conditions and completing critical service diversions ahead of full-scale construction. The main works then delivered extensive road reconstruction, upgraded infrastructure, and new transport facilities – all executed under live traffic conditions on a route carrying over 17,000 vehicles per day.
