Christchurch Water Package

Across the Christchurch region, JFC has successfully delivered complex and large-scale water services infrastructure.   As part of the Three Waters renewals programme, we completed extensive wastewater infrastructure upgrades across the suburban streets of Spreydon and Papanui. This included approximately 2.4km of deep sewer renewals at depths of up to 3m, a further 2.2km of wastewater main renewals, and 1.9km of wastewater laterals delivered concurrently across multiple work fronts. In addition, potable water renewals were undertaken along Highsted Road, including the installation of over 470m of new PE water main and approximately 200m of new submain.   The Port Hills Road Water Main Renewals project in 2022 further showcases our experience in potable infrastructure upgrades. We renewed and upgraded approximately 780m of DN180 PE100 potable water mains across Port Hills Road and Peverel Street, including DN63 PE submains. These works were required to perform within constrained hillside road corridors characterised by limited working space, steep gradients, and high residential interface which highlights our capability to perform in constrained environments, live network conditions and competency in traffic management.   In 2023, JFC delivered the Southeast Riccarton Wastewater Renewals project, installing approximately 3.6km of new wastewater mains across ten urban street, and 3.09km of laterals, including ridermain installations. The project also included construction of 56 new wastewater manholes and rehabilitation of existing assets. The use of AirVac provided by our sister company Alliance, supports a non-destructive excavation method resulting in safe and efficient service investigations in live environments.   Also in 2023, we completed the Lyttelton Water Main Renewals project, focused on upgrading potable water infrastructure within a highly constrained coastal and hillside urban setting. Across ten separate work sites, we successfully delivered approximately 1.5km of potable water main renewals and 920m of submain renewals.   Our track record across Christchurch highlights our depth of expertise in water renewals, complex urban delivery, and live network operations. JFC is well-positioned to continue supporting resilient water infrastructure renewals  through safe and efficient delivery.
