Introducing Waitematā Station Plaza—a newly upgraded public space delivered ahead of the opening of the City Rail Link (CRL) later this year.

In partnership with Auckland Council, JFC reconstructed the plaza between Tyler and Galway Streets. The project included new paving throughout the plaza and Tyler Street, eight in-ground tree pits for the newly planted native trees, and power and stormwater upgrades.

Several public amenities have also been added, including bespoke seating, cycle racks, drinking fountains, and improved lighting. At the centre of the plaza stands a new artwork designed by Graham Tipene: a skylid formed from two 15-tonne precast elements that required extensive engineering coordination and rigging to install.
