The upgrade of Massey Park was to enhance the central destination for Papakura residents, with the sport and recreation facility being integral in providing the district with a safe and vibrant activity centre. Landscaping and earthworks within the grounds, together with the plaza-style entrance has clearly linked the aquatic centre and the park, creating a welcoming open space for events. New off street car parks provide more space for users.
