JFC is recognised as an innovative leader in the civil and infrastructure industry in greater Auckland, with heavy involvement in all types of roading, streetscape, earthworks, drainage and landscaping projects.
This project is an excellent example of pavement construction. Management of contaminated material turned out to be a major activity. An initial Remedial Action Plan (RAP) estimated the nature and extent of the contamination. Once excavation was underway the extent became fully revealed and resulted in 10,000m3 of material being appropriately disposed with RAP measures in place to protect operatives and hauliers. JFC were also heavily involved in the design process, working closely with the designers, client and engineers to produce a cost effective construction depth and methodology. The finished pavement has the strength and durability to provide many years of servicability in this very high stress environment. The transformation of this underdeveloped site for the Onehunga based depot was astounding. The scope of works included: Cut to waste Granular Subbase Granular basecourse stabilisation Asphalt surface course Major drainage works Concrete access way, footpaths and kerb and channel works Fencing
