Maintaining safe sites for staff, visitors and members of the public is the highest priority for JFC. The health and safety performance of the company has been consistently high throughout its life. As the company has grown in size, we have invested in dedicated health and safety professionals to ensure all the systems and procedures are capable of meeting the challenges of modern contracting.
Today we have a highly robust system that meets the highest standards expected by our company leaders. From the inception of a project to the execution on site, we have defined processes that ensure all hazards are identified, properly considered and that mitigation measures are in place to create a zero harm environment.
We place great emphasis on human resources, ensuring that all of our employees have the skills and capabilities to undertake the tasks that confront them on a daily basis. The majority of training undertaken has a safety perspective and every member of staff has their own training plan targeting their specific job role and skill level. The company-wide training matrix ensures that we allocate the right person to the job in question.
We know that consistent and persistent leadership efforts are necessary to put in place a work ethic that has safety at its core. Our senior management team reviews performance at quarterly safety committee meetings and holds regular safety briefings with site managers and supervisors. This approach cascades throughout the workforce during personal and project safety inductions and daily tool box meetings.
To measure our performance on a routine basis, we undertake scheduled site safety audits. The audits take place at site level by members of the contract management team and independently by one of our health and safety professionals. The audit reports are reviewed by senior managers at the quarterly safety committee meetings.
We know that health and safety is an area where you have to be constantly vigilant in order to maintain the highest safety record. The JFC management team is committed to ensuring the highest safety standards for everyone connected with our activities. We will always use our best endeavours to this end and maintain our status as an ACC Tertiary accredited organisation.
