Communication & Stakeholder Management

Working and communicating appropriately and effectively with the client, architects, designers and other authorities connected with a project is a core competence of JFC. The directors and senior managers set an exemplary standard in this regard where a collaborative style of relationship is the preferred way to conduct business.

This approach is embodied within the culture of JFC and tangibly demonstrated in the systems and procedures of our quality assurance system.

As part of a project start up procedure we like to establish a communications matrix, detailing the protocols surrounding internal and external communication, along with the escalation procedures.

Establishing and publicising a full contact list for the project, including after hour numbers has become a standard that has been well received.

Stakeholders are a key component of any works, and can sometimes prove to be a valuable wealth of local knowledge. JFC’s communication prior to works starting and during a project helps identify any relevant issues and limits the impact on stakeholders, whereby incorporating them into the planning and programming.

A stakeholder contact register including emergency services, utility service providers, ARC numbers and other authorities relevant to the project is retained by the each project team to enable quick and effective response to any situation.

We regularly use different channels of communication, such as website updates, articles in client newsletters, face to face meetings and onsite billboards to continue our informative approach to stakeholder management.
